Glad to do it -- especially since it seems to resuscitate old voices from the warm, dark corners of my archived web past!

I think the cooking metaphor is a good one. I enjoy eating food prepared by myself , and the satisfaction is high. I also love to eat food prepared by other people. Pre-made stuff can be good too, but ready meals (or TV dinners) just don't cut it for me (I'm also very fussy and have strict requirements when it comes to the ingredients).

As for coding, I much prefer to do things my own way (maybe its an ego thing). I have yet to find a shopping cart that does things how I want, and picking my way through someone elses sludge is not my cup of tea.

The semantic disjunct between documentation and implementation is an unending source of political polemic. There is no "freedom" in the Declaration of Independence, either. People always find what they are looking for, instead of looking for what they can find, whether it's in founders' documents, or fossil records.

Re: Politicians, of course, need a different test, since their voting behavior is driven by “None of the Above”. So far, I don’t have any handy tests for greed, stupidity, and the capacity for suspending morality.

Invoked: 'grep democracy American_Constitution.txt'

Grep's reply: 'democracy not found in American_Constitution.txt'

The United States of America is a Republic, not a Democracy...
Bummer :/
